Hopkins Ridge:
Hopkins Ridge was permitted in November of 2004. RES began construction of the Hopkins Ridge Project in 2005. Eight months later, under the ownership of Puget Sound Energy, Hopkins Ridge began to generate electricity.
The project has 11 leases for 11,000 acres of land but the footprint consists of approximately 100 acres. The site is made up of 83, 1.8 MW Vestas Wind Turbines and can produce enough electricity to power 40,000 homes.
Hopkins Ridge is benefiting Columbia County by creating local jobs and generating $806,000 annually in tax revenue.
Marengo:
Permitted at the same time as the Hopkins Ridge Project, Marengo was developed and constructed by RES Americas and sold to PacifiCorp.
The site is made up of 78, 1.8 MW Vestas Wind Turbines and is expected to produce enough electricity to power 37,000 homes.

Dayton:
The Dayton Wind Project was recently permitted by Columbia County in April 2007 after extensive environmental assessment. In May 2007, Columbia County’s issuance of the Dayton Project’s Conditional Use Permit was appealed in Walla Walla County Superior Court by eight Columbia County residents; in September 2007, the Court dismissed the appeal, finding that Columbia County and its Board of Adjustment did not err in issuing a Conditional Use Permit. The project will be constructed directly south-west of the existing Marengo Project. The Project was permitted for 50 turbines; RES began construction of 39 turbines in September 2007.
