The Washington State Environmental Protection Act (SEPA) requires state and local agencies to take into consideration the impacts of a proposed project on the environment before considering whether to consider a land use permit for the project. RES Americas has prepared very detailed SEPA (State Environmental Protection Act) documents which have been reviewed by several state and county agencies.
Columbia County officials reviewed RES Americas’ SEPA documents and agreed that the project would not have significant adverse environmental impacts.
RES Americas produced a Biological Resources Investigation which reviewed avian impacts and wildlife and provided vegetation mapping.
RES Americas produced a Wetland Delineation Report which discussed wetlands and other waterways in the area and the project’s potential impact on the wetlands and waterways.
RES Americas conducted assessments to estimate the visual impact of the project that depict what the project would look like after construction. The impact assessments were taken from strategic locations that are viewpoints for many of the people in the project area. In these assessments, the checkerboard landscape represents the existing landscape and blue lines showing up over the horizon represent blades of wind turbines.
